What Is Cashmere
Derived from the undercoat of Mongolian cashmere goats, Cashmere is prized for its unparalleled softness and insulating properties. Its delicate fibres require gentle handling to prevent damage and preserve the fabric’s natural lusture.

HOW TO WASH AT HOME (WITH CARE)
WHAT YOU NEED
Hand washing is the preferred method for cleaning cashmere, as it minimizes the risk of damage.
- Mild detergent (specifically for delicate fabrics) or alternatively a soft baby shampoo
- Cold water
- A clean towel
STEP 1
Prepare The Washing Solution
Fill a basin with lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, which can shrink and damage the cashmere fibres.
Add a small amount of mild detergent specifically designed for wool or cashmere. Baby shampoo can also be used as a gentle alternative.
If your garment is suffering from pilling (small balls of fibre forming from friction in wearing) then turn your item inside out for washing.
STEP 2
Soak the Garment
Submerge your cashmere garment in the water, gently agitating it with your hands.
Let it soak for about 10-15 minutes to allow the detergent to penetrate the fibres
STEP 3
Agitate the water
Carefully and slowly plunge & swirl your cashmere in the cold water & solution, then drain.
STEP 4
ROLL IT UP TO Remove Excess Water
Lay a clean, dry towel on a flat surface & place the dress flat onto the towel, then roll the towel up with the cashmere inside the towel to gently squeeze out excess water. Do not twist or wring the towel.
Then unroll the towel and carefully reshape the item if necessary. Lay the cashmere item flat on a clean, dry towel in a shaded, well ventilated area. We strongly urge you to avoid direct sunlight as sunlight can fade the natural cashmere fabric.
DO NOT HANG YOUR CASHMERE TO DRY - IT WILL RUIN ITS KNITTED CONSTUCTION
STEP 5
STORING YOUR CASHMERE
Fold cashmere garments neatly to avoid stretching & place them inside a dark drawer for storing. Avoid damp environments at all costs
STEP 6
Protect Cashmere
Cashmere is a natural fabric & so it can attract unwanted attention from cretins & creatures. We advise you to use a natural moth repellent like cedar balls, lavender sachets, or dried rosemary to protect your garments from moth damage as you store it in your drawer
ADDRESSING COMMON ISSUES
PILING
Pilling is a natural occurrence in
cashmere, where small balls of cashmere fibre form on the surface due to friction from natural use.
Heres what to do
REMOVE PILES GENTLY
Use a cashmere comb or a fabric shaver to gently remove pills. Be careful not to snag the fabric or it might run if pulled
TO PREVENT FUTURE PILLING
Turn your garment inside out before washing and avoid friction with rough surfaces and fabrics
ADDRESSING COMMON ISSUES
Staining
TREAT STAINS PROMPTLY
Blot stains with a clean cloth and little cold water immediately. Avoid rubbing, which can push the stain deeper into the fibres.
USE A MILD STAIN REMOVER
Sometimes you may need to apply a small amount of mild detergent directly to the stain and gently work it in with your fingers.
GENTLY, VERY GENTLY
Then wash out the detergent with cold water only
